Embracing the Light Within: My Shaman Candy Journey

My first blog post

My intention with my blog is to reach people on a real and intimate way. To be able to share my stories, experiences, healing, pain and struggles that I have experienced in this lifetime. Hopefully to be a guiding light for those wanting to make different choices in their lives and to realize that they are not alone. To assist you in releasing the stories that have been told to you about you, and you were programmed into believing. To assist you in awakening the part of you that is the Author of your story/life, you have the power to create the life of your dreams and your hearts desires. There are tools and ways of being that can assist you in unearthing the Great Light/Christ Consciousness that lives within you and all of us. I know it sounds impossible to some but I am living proof that you have the power to shift, change and create a different life than the one you were born into, conditioned to believe and fated to. It doesn't happen overnight but with faith, courage, commitment and action you have the power within you. This is not an outside job, it is an inside job and you are way stronger than you believe you are.

I am a person who practices shamanism and mysticism. I specialize in Peruvian Shamanism with my ceremonies and healing work.

I first started my journey as a young angry, suicidal and lost girl. Spirit guided me to my first teacher Michele who began to bring me back to life, she taught me so many things but mostly how to be in relation with myself and Spirit. She instilled in me a way to not only connect with Spirit but challenged me to achieve the unbelievable, to want to be alive and find my worth. She was also my introduction to the world of ceremony, Mary Elizabeth Thunder and an indigenous way of relating to the world. So this is also part of my medicine that I carry in my commitment to Spirit and stepped into healing through my own personal vision quests, traditional sweat lodges, chanupa/pipe cermonies, woman's dances and a supporter at Crow Dog's Paradise Sundance. I am also a carrier of the Chanupa.

I went on to take what I believe was another workshop on self-healing to realize I enrolled in a shamanic school. That will be another blog lol. I graduated from the Four Winds Society but most of my initiations have come from my extensive time, ceremony and teachings I have accrued over time with the Medicine men and women of Peru. Each pilgrimage, healing and rite of initiation I have participate in unearthed medicine that lives in me, became that much deeper. I have worked with Linda Fitch, Victoria Johnson, Alberto Villoldo, Don Francisco, Don Pablo, Vilma Pinedo, Jorge Luis Delgado, Sandra Ingerman, Cissi Williams, Don Guido and Dona Julia. And lastly to my great teacher Don Mariano and his son Don Santiago who I have been blessed to call my teacher for the last couple of years and work with him. I have brought a group to Peru with me and my late friend/brother Odon Medina Calsin and have sponsored him here in the States. It is his heart centered approach to his work that speaks to me at this time. The teaching that intention is everything and a pure heart. He is a master and I have been facilitating ceremony for over 15 years and they grow and expand as I grow and expand. I am a hollow bone to be in service and that is what I will share with you in my blogs.

I have held back from sharing my authentic self out of fear of not fitting in a particular box, of not being smart enough, of not being indigenous in my skin, of also having a mystical aspect to my ceremonies, but all of this is what creates my abilities and gifts, of being that hollow bone to be used as an instrument for healing, prayer and ceremony. I have learnt that none of that matters really, what matters is you show up for yourself and the whole, can you allow your Spirit being to drive your life and not your ego, can you step into being and not doing, can you feel a connection to a force much greater than yourself, and can you practice power with rather than power over.
